what's the future like for the YEN?

Hi,
i'm not an expert on issues like this,
but with the little i know, i see the yen
being weak against the USD and relatively
weak against the GBP. I'll like to hear from
others on this issue as i earlier said i'm not
an expert and will therefore like to be corrected where
found wrong.

I just looked at the chart of the JPY/ USD and the long term chart looks constructive.... it has a long term trading range but it did a premature breakout and is now consolidating...

So at least on the 5 year chart it looks good going forward...

I think the common theme we will see going forward is generally more strength of other currencies versus USD and JPY is no exception.

Yeah Tom you are absolutely correct. It depends on long term not on short term. You will have deal with USD and GBP. Yen will cross or at least reach them.

Tom you words are perfect. Long term goals can take time so no comparison between Yen and USD in short term goals.

De-dollarizing oil would not in itself push the US currency below its 25-year range. But it is portentous of the clear trend to a genuinely multi-power world, for better or worse, in which the dollar will get no favors. That will push the dollar down, at least while the news and fallout make their way through the financial and real economic systems.
